WL-G510 a router for all needs

The router WL-G510 is a robust industrial router based on an ARM CPU Cortex A7 900MHz, the internal communication interfaces are based on 3.0 USB which has a maximum speed of 5 Gbps, absolutely compatible with the advanced LTE standard (Cat 6, Cat 11) and even with the future 5G cellular network. As an LTE engine, it uses the reliable EC25-E module from Quectel, an LTE Cat 4 module optimized for M2M and IoT applications that offers 150 Mbps in downlink and 50 Mbps in uplink.

The WL-G510 has a WiFi section that offers two independent WiFi networks to 2.4G and 5G to guarantee a fast and reliable network service. A GPS receiver and an integrated gigabit switch complete the product guaranteeing all the necessary for wireless connectivity in a single compact container. A removable terminal block allows for an RS232 serial port, 2 digital input and a digital output.

Configuration

Configuration is possible via browser, connect the ethernet port of the PC to one of the 4 switch connectors, the default router has 192.168.1.1 IP address and the active DHCP server. If the PC is set to autoconfigure, it will be configured automatically, if instead it is configured with a static IP address it will be necessary to set an address in the same class as the router (Example 192.168.1.10).

By typing in the 192.168.1.1 IP address from the browser a credentials request box will open, the default credentials are Username:admin e Password:admin.

Cellular network settings

To enable the connection of the router to the cellular network the access APN must be set. From the menu Basic Network -> Cellular set up the management of dual SIM, you can choose between Fail over, SIM1, SIM2, Backup. If you use only one SIM, I recommend setting the SIM in use. In the SIM settings you need to define the APN communicated by the SIM provider.

Returning to the menu Status -> Overview in the WAN network information the connection status is displayed with the indication of the IP address assigned by the network, the signal level and the type of connection in progress.

Logical inputs / outputs

2 logic inputs, on each input it is possible to set the sending of an SMS on input status or on count value.

1 logic output, it is possible to activate the output for a programmable time upon receipt of an SMS, on receipt of the SMS if the text is recognized an SMS can be sent to acknowledge.

Serial port

An RS232 / RS485 serial port is available on the removable screw connector, it is possible to set the router to work as an Ethernet / Serial converter both in client and server mode. It is also possible to set it to operate as a Modbus TCP / RTU gateway both in client and server mode on RS485 port.

On the door Console an additional RS232 serial port is available, it is possible to set the router to work on this port as an Ethernet / Serial converter both in client and server mode. Here is the connection diagram of the RJ45 connector.
