By connecting the modem to the PC via USB cable a new device connected to the system will be identified and since the drivers are not automatically identified a question mark will be displayed next to the devices (Screenshot).
You need to download from our drivers site (from the product page) and update the driver on the two devices (ScreenshotOnce the drivers have been upgraded we will find ourselves with two COM ports on USB, one is the COM port connected to the Java engine, while the other is the modem port from which it is possible to use the modem with its AT commands (Screenshot).
Using a terminal (Example il our Toolly) by connecting to the COM port of the modem with the parameters 115200, n, 8 it is possible to send AT commands.

Is it possible to send sms from both COM port and USB emulated as COM port?

Both the real COM port and the COM port on USB communicate with the Java engine, so you can manage both.
If your need is only sending SMS, I recommend the model BGS2, possibly combined with a USB/Serial converter.
