A customer who has to carry out a project with a Weintek MT8100i operator panel asks me for the feasibility, I publish the request because it gives an idea of the versatility of Weintek products. Its needs are:
Recognition of operators by entering user and password; about twenty users are estimated.
One of the users, a sort of SuperUser, above all, must be enabled to manage users (create new or delete existing ones), change password of his subordinates and change qualifications for each user.
For qualifications, it is understood that on a certain quantity of operations (eg 12 buttons) the SuperUser must be able to decide freely, who can do what.
Furthermore, every action performed by the operator, such as access to the system / log-in, execution of the maneuver (pressing of the command keys), must be logged in an event viewer (history) that can be archived and exported to CSV, whose be allowed only to the SuperUser.
In addition to the operator actions, it must be possible to record other events, related to the change of state (transition from False to True) of PLC boolean variables (VIPA 313SC).
In the future, the end customer would like to install a second operator panel, from which, to perform approximately the same maneuvers as the first, however, having a single event viewer between the two panels.
If not possible with this panel, can you recommend other models or possibly tell what is not possible?

The function Operation Log automatically saves in a SQL Lite database all the operations performed on the panel and it is possible to synchronize the file on a USB dongle. To export the file you can access the panel in FTP and download it. The file is written in SQL Lite format, there are several management tools.
The operation log can be viewed on the panel with the object Operation Log View or print it with the subject Operation Log Printing.
Council, since the customer would like to have a second panel in the future, I would think about using a panel CMT3103 to which in the future I could simply connect terminals CMT-IV5 as extensions.
I recommend reading this article.
July 6, 2019 at 6: 36 am #48515Sergio BertanaAdministrator ForumContinuing the discussion, I am asked, given that the second future panel will be used exclusively to display the alarms and events recorded by the main panel and, for security reasons, it will not be possible to issue any commands, it is possible to use two MT8100iE panels?
Events automatically logged by the object Operation Log they are visible only from the panel that records them, so if you want to replicate them (Even only in display) you must necessarily use a CMT server. Different scenario if you just want to view alarms, then you can replicate the alarms on both panels (But beware you would have two separate views with separate alarm acknowledgment between one panel and the other).
With regard to the CMT-IV5 I saw that it does not appear among the programmable devices, is it a client PC and the project resides in the CMT3103 server? Where can I find useful information to deepen their knowledge?
Yes the CMT-IV5 has no onboard program, it is a system that runs a CMT-Viewer program that manages the graphic program that resides in the CMT server. To learn more, you can create a project on a CMT server and test it with the simulator on a PC, in this case when you text the project you actually run the CMT-Viewer program.
