Lo Spider it can be connected to the RS485 network, each spider can acquire up to 4 One-Wire sensors, see list sensors available. Up to a maximum of 485 Spider devices can be connected to the same RS8 network (Select the address with the appropriate dip-switches).
The RS485 network must be a ring Daisy-Chain Topology, star connections cannot be made Star Topology, and this in many cases complicates the creation of the network. The Spider devices, thanks to the use of RJ45 connectors and to the double network configuration, allow to use normal UTP patch cables (Normally used in networking) for the realization of the RS485 network.
This simplifies the installation of the equipment and allows you to use the normal UTP cables already present, without having to provide for the laying of additional cables. To allow the creation of a network in a star configuration, HWgroup has created a special network HUB called S-Hub (See description). It is possible to connect up to 7 devices to this HUB, the RS485 connection entering the HUB will be made available to all connected devices.
In addition to distributing the RS485 network, the S-Hub also distributes the power supply of the various connected Spider devices, behaving just like a Power over Ethernet HUB. The connection of the RS485 network to the S-Hub input must be made on connector 1 according to the diagram.
RS485 A +: Pin 5-6 (Blue / White and Green wires)
RS485 B-: Pin 3-4 (Green / White and Blue wires)May 23, 2012 at 4: 24 pm #37251Sergio BertanaAdministrator ForumIn the bookshop SlimLine, there is a special function block for reading HWgroup devices. Through the FB sHWgSProtocol it is possible to read Spider devices connected in the RS485 network with a CPU module SlimLine.
In the example program I read the 4 One-Wire sensors connected to a Spider (Address 000), to increase the number of Spiders read just add calls to the sHWgSProtocol FB by setting the address of the sensor to be acquired. I attach press program e LogicLab project complete.
