I have always used Vs Ubiquiti products in particular the Picostation 2 to realize access points in homes and offices without problems. Now I bought the new M2HP Picostation and I can not configure them, or rather having configured them (I think correctly) the client PCs do not connect to the network. Do you have any suggestions.
July 6, 2011 at 9: 58 am #36826Sergio BertanaAdministrator ForumAll products Ubiquiti they are slowly migrating to the 802.11n standard which stands out for its high compatibility and better performance than the previous 802.11g protocol. The main feature of the new standard is connection speed, up to 300Mbps (802.11g reaches 54Mbps) .The transfer speed increases thanks to MI-MO technology (multiple-input, multiple-output) and channel bonding ). The previous 802.11g version uses 20MHz channels while the 802.11n can use 40MHz channels. Of course these new implementations are not compatible with older generation WiFi devices, even if PC and smartphone manufacturers are implementing 802.11n support in their appliances. To maintain compatibility with devices that do not support the new standard, the MI-MO and channel bonding functions must be disabled on the access point. In Tab wireless it is necessary to set the Channel Width to 20MHz, and in the Tab Advanced you need to disable the AirMax entry (See screenshot).
September 6, 2011 at 1: 26 pm #36928AuthorlessIdleI just installed a Picostation M2 HP, I set the work mode (Access Point), SSID, mode (B / G / N or mixed) and obviously I chose Bridge as the operating mode. I didn't activate the wifi network protection before, I'll set it up after all the tests.
Now I can't get any PC to connect to the Picostation, I followed the screenshots of the previous post which, however, refer to a NanoStation Loco M2. I can't find where to disable the AirMax entry, since it's not in the Advanced Tab.
I assume this is the reason for the lack of PC connection.
