The SMS gateway HWg-SMS-GW3 allows you to send SMS messages via an ethernet network connection. The device has a GSM modem inside, just insert a SIM card.
Connected to the ethernet network, the device acquires the IP address from the DHCP server, using the programs HWgConfig o Hercules, by performing a network scan, it is possible to identify all the devices on the network and thus trace the device IP (Screenshot). It is also possible to manually change the IP address.
Now all the configuration is accessible from the web page, just from a browser type the IP address of the device to access the menu here screenshot of the home page. As you can see from the home page, it is possible to know if the modem is connected to the GSM network, the signal level and the operator.

HTTP GET is a method in which all parameters are passed directly into the URL, it is often used for simple applications because it allows for simple debugging and is easy to code. From a browser you simply invoke the address of the device with the necessary parameters, for example:
http:\\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\values.xml?Cmd=SMS&Nmr=00420123456789&Text=Hello World!
You will receive in response an xml document of the type:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <Root> <QueueAddResponse> <Rslt>1</Rslt> <ID>1</ID> </QueueAddResponse> </Root>

C:\>wget "http://192.168.1.99/values.xml?Cmd=SMS&Nmr=12345678&Text=Hello World!" --2021-07-28 10:00:38-- http://192.168.1.99/values.xml?Cmd=SMS&Nmr=12345678&Text=Hello%20World! Connecting to 192.168.1.99:80... connected. HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 200 Ok Length: unspecified [text/xml] Saving to: 'values.xml@Cmd=SMS&Nmr=12345678&Text=Hello World!' values.xml@Cmd=SMS&Nmr=335217 [ <=> ] 118 --.-KB/s in 0s 2021-07-28 10:00:38 (2,07 MB/s) - 'values.xml@Cmd=SMS&Nmr=12345678&Text=Hello World!' saved [118] C:\>
July 28, 2021 at 10: 18 am #60684Sergio BertanaAdministrator ForumIn addition to sending SMS, it is also possible to make a call by ringing the phone, this can be useful for alerting the recipient of the arrival of an SMS or for managing an operating heartbeat.
The person called will hear the phone ring and see the caller's number, if he does not answer the call, it is interrupted after a few seconds. If there is an answer, the call is immediately interrupted.
To make the call, use the same techniques seen for sending SMS but replace the command with Call and the text is not defined.
http:\\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\values.xml?Cmd=Call&Nmr=00420123456789
