Home > Forum > IP monitoring (HW-group) > Server room control with alarm signaling
I am inspired by the request of one of our customers who needs to control the temperature of a server room with the management of alarm signals.
I hypothesize the use of a Poseidon 3268 which has the ability to manage:
4 digital inputs for dry contact detection.
4 temperature or humidity sensors on 1-wire bus.
2 clean contacts on exit for signal management.
Thanks to its Ethernet connectivity, the product can be inserted into the company network and therefore be monitored from all stations.
The logic inputs can be used for anti-intrusion control by using IR presence sensors. Possible detection of logical alarm conditions by UPS, Conditioners, etc.
The temperature and humidity sensors can monitor the environment, signaling any abnormal conditions.
The logical contacts at the output can activate flashing and / or acoustic signals to signal an anomaly.
All alarm conditions can be forwarded to service personnel by sending Email messages, SNMP Trap, and if a Poseidon 2251 alarms can also be sent via SMS via a cellular modem connected to the product.
