I often get the question about the differences between the different USB to RS232 converters we distribute. We currently distribute 3 models of the ATC, ATC-804, ATC-810 e ATC-850 and 3 Trycom models, TRP-C08x. Let's see the features common to all models: Integrated protection from electrostatic charges up to 15KV. DB9 male connector (DTE) for RS-232 connection (Not on TRP-C08 model) LED for displaying the converter activity. Features of ATC-850, TRP-C08, TRP-C08S, TRPC08H models: RS422 / 485 line with automatic switching mode Galvanic isolation between the USB port and the RS232, RS422, RS485 serial ports.
Regarding the level of the RS232 signals, I report the voltage characteristics required by the EIA RS-232 standard on the signals, which are:
Mark: Including between -3 and -15 V;
Space: Including between + 3 and + 15 V;
Uncertainty: Including between -3 and + 3 V;
To allow you to check the compatibility of the voltage levels of the RS232 output signals from the various converters, I report one oscillographic detection of the same.
