A correct functioning of the raspberry foresees a managed shutdown. How is it checked in the event of a sudden shutdown or blackout in the network?
Is there a UPS?
On the Raspberry system the ext4 file system is used which has active journaling and this guarantees good protection against corruption of data on disk. For further protection in formatting the SDCard we have created two partitions, one with the operating system and the partition data where the data is stored.
All these precautions even if they do not guarantee 100% data integrity to sudden power offs from tests performed with a cliclatore able to turn the system on and off at random times, we have found that the system continues to work even after several thousand cycles. .
We are working on a new firmware version that implements the shutdown and reboot commands that can be managed by the LogicLab program. In this way it is possible to combine a UPS power supply and manage the shutdown.
