Home > Forum > IP monitoring (HW-group) > Normal and PoE version of the "STE" IP thermometer
I need to know the difference between the two ordering codes of the “STE. Both report "Power supply and 3m temperature probe included" but the PoE version costs more, why?
Also I don't understand the presence of the power supply in the PoE version, shouldn't it be powered by the ethernet cable?
The two products are aesthetically, dimensionally and functionally identical, the PoE version differs in that it can accept the power supply not only from the special power supply supplied with it but also from the ethernet cable.
The presence of the PoE power supply circuit is an additional circuit in the product and therefore increases its cost.
Therefore, if it is not necessary to power it from an ethernet cable (PoE), but you can use the power supply supplied, I recommend choosing the model without PoE.
